Simple Spring Tea Cake

So over winter break I purchased two silicone mini Bundt pans at JoAnn’s on a Christmas sale. I tucked them away, busy with the holiday and then accidentally totally forgot about them. I was doing a cabinet clean out as a part of my spring cleaning and low and behold there they were in the back of the cabinet behind the Tupperware. I knew I had to use them right away, so I quickly whipped up these little tea Bundt cakes. they were so easy and turned out super yummy. They are light and fluffy and the perfect size for everyone in your family to have a little personal Bundt cake, or several all to yourself.

You can order yourself a couple of these amazing pans here: Wilton Silicone Mini Bundt pans

Now onto the recipe…

Simple Spring Tea Cake

  • 1 box of Pillsbury White cake
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 4 egg whites
  • 3 tablespoons of vanilla
  • 1/2 cup of melted butter
  • 2 cups of powder sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of vanilla
  • 2 strawberries

Start by pre heating the oven to 350 degrees. Now, add the dry mix into a bowl and then stir in the milk, butter and vanilla. The recipe on the box calls for water, and oil, but trust me, this is how you make a box mix taste great. Mix these ingredients until it is a smooth batter. Next separate the 4 egg whites from the yolks and then add them into your batter. Stir the egg whites in thoroughly until they are completely combined. Now that you have finished the batter you can take is and pour it into each little Bundt round filling it about 2/3 full. The amazing thing about these pans is since they are silicone, there is no need to spray, butter, or flour them in advance, you just bake them and then pop them out. Now, put them in the oven and cook for 21 minutes, and when you see them get a little golden brown on the top, that’s how you know they are done. Let them cool for 10 minutes, flip the trey over onto a cooling rack and carefully pop each one out of the tray.

While the cakes were cooling I went ahead and added my powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla together in a bowl to create the icing. Once the cakes are cool you can drizzle the icing over the cakes, or take a mini Bundt, flip it over, and dip it into the bowl so the whole top is evenly coated in icing, like I did.

I served mine with sliced strawberries and vanilla ice cream. They were a post dinner hit and super easy to make. I know these will be a go to treat for me to bake all spring and summer. Bundt cakes are so versatile and you can make so many cake and frosting flavor combinations. I hope you found this helpful, and easy.

Thanks for cooking with me!

Spring #OOTD

Hello! Today I wanted to share a little outfit of the day with you guys. I wore this ensemble on a breezy spring day about my town. I am wearing a blue checkered vintage sheath cut dress that I purchased at a consignment store. Over top, I wore a light, white, cable knit sweater from American Eagle for warmth. For shoes I am wearing simple nude heels, and added a simple ballet pink tote from Nine West. Finally I accessorized the outfit with a pearl necklace and dainty pearl earrings, and last but surely not least my Kiel James Patrick Navy Blue “North Star” rope bracelet.

This outfit is perfect for a spring day because, spring is that time of the season where it can be freezing in the morning and then hot by noon, and having the sweater to layer over the dress is a staple for navigating the sudden temperature changes of the season. I love mixing patterns in the spring and summer, and the cable knit and the blue gingham print worked great together. Then by adding the elements of the minimal bag, minimal shoes, and minimal jewelry, it all really pulled the outfit together in my opinion.

I simply loved this outfit and will definitely be wearing these pieces over and over again throughout spring and summer this year. I hope you pulled inspiration from my outfit of the day, and I’ll talk to you in my next post!

Stay Trendy.

Kentucky Derby Outfits

Hello lovely people! I think we can all agree besides the blooming flowers, and warm, sunny days, nothing signifies spring more than the Kentucky Derby! The Kentucky Derby dates back to the early 1900’s when members of the upper class would gather at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky to watch horses race, place bets, and admire each other dressed in a mass of pastels, mixed prints, and outrageous hats.

I created two looks inspired by this springtime affair. I hope you gather some inspiration from these ensembles for a show-stopping spring outfit, or a Derby outfit of your own if you plan on attending the event this year.

The dress I am wearing I thrifted and it is from London Times. It is a mini dress, that is lace and is pastel yellow.

The hat is a DIY that I made. This hat is neat because I also thrifted the actual hat itself and added ribbon and flowers to it myself. The that is a classic Kentucky Derby style that, but the entire thing is made of gold wiring. I adorned it with a super cute yellow gingham ribbon and beautiful, faux white, pink, yellow flowers and a few single white feathers. This whole DIY that was very easy to make and turned out so cute and perfect for a day at the derby. Lastly, I finished off the entire look with Pearl earrings, a Pearl necklace, a Pearl bracelet, and Nude heels.

The next and final look starts off with this beautiful peach dress from Calvin Klein. It is all crochet lace and has a gold zipper on the back. I love this dress because it is a classic sheath style and gives me a great shape. This light Brown hat is from JCrew and I also added some beautiful faux peonies and green leaves to this one as well as a dainty pink lace ribbon.

Finally I finished off the look with a pearl bracelet and these gorgeous mint colored jewel earrings from Kitsch LA. Definitely go follow their Instagram to shop more of their gorgeous jewelry! @mykitsch

I hope you loved these outfits and hats as much as I enjoyed putting them together! I’ll talk to you in my next post!

Music Playlist // Current Favorite Songs

With each month that passes, we have artists coming out with new content and new songs hitting the radio. I love finding new songs that I haven’t heard on the radio, and new artist that I didn’t know existed. I just love when that happens. Most of you know, but if you don’t, let me tell you, snapchat is a life saver. Whenever I’m out and I hear a song and I don’t know who the artist is I just whip out snapchat and hold the screen down and Shazam will tell me the song and the artist. I have found so many new favorite songs and bands that way. Also, Spotify is great at promoting and playing music that I haven’t heard yet and I usually end up loving all of its suggestions.

I have noticed lately that my music taste has been leaning towards songs with Rock and Roll influences. Not fully, but a little bit of classic and indie rock with a touch of bluegrass. I also have been loving alternative music and alternative rock. Pretty much meaning, stuff that doesn’t play on the radio. Don’t get me wrong, I love some good radio hits, but it’s usually the same popular twenty songs being cycled over and over and it can get very boring very fast. I hope you find some new favorite songs or artists from this list that I put together for you.

Now to my favorite songs

  • Lost in your Love – Colyer
  • Only Angel – Harry Styles
  • Bad Karma – Ida Maria
  • Mountain Man – Crash Kings
  • Barton Hollow – The Civil Wars
  • Blood in the Cut – K. Flay
  • Out for You – Colyer
  • No good – Kaleo
  • Best the Devils Tattoo – BRMC
  • In one ear – Cage the Elephant
  • The Ringer – Colyer
  • Wow – Beck
  • Whiskey Fever – Dorothy
  • Southern Gothic – Tyminski
  • Kiwi – Harry Styles
  • Enough – Colyer
  • My Sharona – The Knack

Also guys, please make sure to check out Colyer, one of my favorite artists. He is so talented and deserves so much recognition. The song I linked below is one of his newest singles and is already a classic, he also has so much other good music out, so… go check him out!

Valentines Day Outfit Ideas

Hello Lovers, Happy almost Valentines Day! I figured I would give you this post of Outfit Ideas a week early so you have a little time to curate an ensemble for next week. Since Valentine’s Day is on a Wednesday, I created 3 looks. One for the office, one for a date, and one for a night out with the girls.

This office appropriate look is cute enough go to wear out and appropriate enough to wear to the work place.

The red blouse is Anne Taylor with black buttons. Since it is sheer I just put a black half tank under it. The houndstooth skirt is from Forever 21. I paired it with some chunky black heeled booties from Target.

The next outfit is great for a date with your significant other. It is a red dress from 1. State, and I paired it with a vintage Leather Moto Jacket and plain black heels.

The next, and final outfit is prefect for going out with your girlfriends, I simply just switched the leather jacket for a light grey sweater embellished with giant red lips from H&M.

I hope you get some inspiration for the perfect Valentine’s Day Outfit and have a happy Valentine’s Day loves!

Capsule Wardrobe

So you want to minimize your closet?

It’s daunting I know, trust me, I know. Being a blogger of Fashion and Beauty, I used to think I needed to have all the latest, trendiest pieces in my wardrobe, all the time. That can become hectic. I have always found tranquility in minimalism, as have thousands of other people. There are many factors that go into minimalism; practicing minimalism; being a minimalist, and one of those factors is that less is always more.

Less is always more.

It might be hard to grasp (when it comes to clothing) so I’ll break it down.

Over packing becomes Under packing.

How can you fit 200 outfits into 1 suitcase?

It is almost like an equation, but follow it carefully and you will an have unlimited amount of possibilities (in outfit choices).

If you pack 8 Skirts & 8 Tops that can all be interchanged, well that is already 64 different outfits.

If you stick to BWNGNG (black, white, navy, grey, nude, green), the ROYGBV of the neutral world, that is already 6 Top options, and then 2 other Tops, say Stripes and another classic print or logo top.

Bottoms: 8 Skirts

Add to your suitcase, the variables of 1 knit shrug, 1 cardigan, & 1 blazer, you have just increased the number of choices from 64 to 192.

That’s not including Shoes, Sunglasses, Hays, Belts, & Scarves, Ect.

Example 2:

Clear your closet.

No I don’t mean throw your wardrobe out, I mean clear it. Clear it of things you don’t ever wear, or haven’t worn in the last 6 months, of tacky, loud prints and colors. Keep it clean, simple, and classic.

You can follow this list from

I hope you utilize these tips, and this list on compact wardrobes and use them to create your own Capsule Wardrobe.
